The Creative Arts Center’s ballet students will bring this classic fairytale, which has a “don’t judge a book by its cover” moral, to life.
This one-act, 50 min ballet is based on the famous ballet Études, set to the beautiful music of Carl Czerny. Études is considered an homage to classical ballet training and is originally choreographed by Danish dancer and choreographer Harald Lander. It begins with traditional ballet exercises at the barre and ends with spectacular bravura displays. Artistic Director Campbell Midgley set the ballet on Queen City Ballet Company dancers and the upper divisions of the Queen City Ballet Conservatory based on Lander’s most famous choreographic work. This performance is socially distanced, family-friendly, and will run for 50 min without an intermission.
