The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales is adapted by John Glore, based on the book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith.

The majority of these performers will be unmasked. We will not be selling seats in the first row.

JUNE 9TH & 12TH PERFORMANCES ARE DESIGNATED AS “SENSORY FRIENDLY” SHOWS.

“Sensory Friendly” or “Relaxed” performances are designed to provide a supportive and judgment-free environment for people affected by sensory processing or social skills challenges so they may enjoy the shared experience of live theatre. With support and guidance from Speech Therapy Solutions Montana, The Stinky Cheese Man will be an opportunity for Grandstreet to open our doors a little wider and welcome many members of our community who previously may not have been comfortable at the theatre. “Sensory Friendly” and “Relaxed” performances are a growing trend in theatres across the world and Grandstreet is very grateful to Speech Therapy Solutions Montana and their Director Daylinda Radley for helping us launch this new program.

Some of our accommodations may include:

Lower sound level.

Lights remain on at a low level in the theatre during the performance.

The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales is produced through special arrangement with Playscripts.

The majority of these performers will be unmasked. We will not be selling seats in the first row.

Though the characters may be familiar, each of your favorite storybook fables is uproariously derailed in this adaptation of Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith’s quintessential children’s book of fractured fairy tales. Everything from “Chicken Little” to “The Gingerbread Man” gets a complete makeover. Fun music and witty narration accompany the likes of ineloquent giants, sassy barnyard animals, colossal cow pies, and enough stinky cheese to go around.

More about the Grandstreet Theatre

Grandstreet is Montana’s premiere community theatre with over 40 years of continuous service. Sustained by volunteers from an exceptionally talented population, Grandstreet also trains over 400 K-12 students each year in our nationally-recognized Grandstreet Theatre School. Each year we produce 10-12 plays and musicals in a beautifully preserved 200-seat turn-of-the-century romanesque granite church and an additional 45-seat black box studio. Nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains in a small but thriving arts community, Grandstreet enjoys tremendous public support and regularly produces some of the best live theatre in the Northwest.
